I bought this desk for my office/guest room.I use this room to set up all my paperwork and projects and I usually set up a folding table to spread out my work projects. But when company is coming I have a lovely Murphy bed for the occasional guest, but I have to scramble to take down the table and clear the room so I can put down the bed. Then after the guests leave it takes me several days to get everything back the way I like it.With this desk, I can close it up and slide it against a wall out of the way without disturbing any of my work, and then it’s a simple matter to move it back to the center of the room and spread it out again to get right back where I left off. It’s a perfect solution for my needs.I used this for my craft table and wanted something that didn't take up too much space, but had a lot of work room. This does just that. I like that you can open it up when needed and close it when you aren't using or don't need so much space.It's sturdy, opens and closes smoothly and a great price for what you get.My only dislike is based on photos, I though the shelving would turn and the desk would stay in place... this is not how it works. It's the desk that moves. Not a big deal, but I would have preferred the shelving to move.This was fairly easy to assemble. However, don't assemble the first step first, wait and do it last because it ends up being the last thing attached anyway. It ended up just being in the way.This is a very lovely piece of furniture. It is very sturdy and I had no problem with the table top fitting over my recliner arms. However, look at the dimensions of the overall finished product. This item that I wanted to sit as a side table next to my recliner and also use for crafts or eating is huge. We ended up putting it in our kitchen and using it as an island. It isn't is as high as a counter would be but is tje same height as our table. It so happened that I hax been looking for a more narrow island and this works perfect. We keep our small appliances and some pots on the shelves. I did take a clear plastic tablecloth and cut it to size for the top since I felt the top may not hold up to possible spills. When we have a gathering, we can open up the top from the shelves and use it as a buffet or a children's table.Perfect for a clear surface for our future guest room while serving as a desk for our daughter for now when she is home from college. Rotates really easily and allows her to clamp her recording microphone to it to swing out of the way against the wall but be in perfect position to record when the desk is out at 99 degrees. The shelves also allow good use of storage space.One of the supporting pieces under the desktop did have the end break off and we had to jury rig a piece of wood in it to hold the screw instead of waiting for a replacement. Worked ok after that.I've carved out a space for sewing and was looking for flexible, inexpensive furniture that still looked good in the living room. This piece was exactly what I was looking for. It's RTA, but I did it by myself in a few hours. The directions were really easy to follow, and all the pieces were labeled well. The table top swivels easily and smoothly, but also has locking wheels tt holds it in place. It's very sturdy, holds all of my sewing and some of my art supplies.Great quality easy to set up and use. I needed something to fit perfectly and to house everything required, it did this and more. I love this desk!I put this thing together by myself, but it took me about four hours. It would probably have been easier with two persons working on it. Directions were pretty sketchy, but I am pleased with the results, which is what is most important.What a great find! I use this as a craft table. I store my paints & colors on the shelf that folds in & out of the way when not in use. It was very easy to assemble & the legs move in & out easily on carpet. I told my sister about it & her daughter-in-law liked the idea so much she ordered one & loves it as well. I'd highly recommend this item.
